Here is a 1902 "American" Horse drawn Steam Fire Engine. One of eight left in the nation, and one of the only functional Steam Fire Engine currently in California.steamer

Known as the "American"  it is the great grandfather of American la France, today's Fire Engine. Weighing in at a whopping 10,700 pounds. This classic steam fire engine can pump 1000 gallons of water a minute and served the city of Reno from 1902 until it was retired 1922.  Restored back to life this wonderful example of our great grandfather's work is truly a joy to view. With its gold leafing artwork, array of pumps, motors, fittings and boiler.
